What to see & when to go

The market runs daily by the twin pagodas. Waterside performances at Bazi Bridge are scheduled for 10:30–11:00 and 15:00–15:30. Tanyuan’s bamboo-carving exhibition opens 09:00–16:00; its Oct 3 gathering starts at 14:00. The opening-night dumpling banquet took place on Sept 29.

Our visit suggestion: For a daytime visit, combine the 15:00 waterside music with the market and Tanyuan before its 16:00 closing. Oct 3 also has a 14:00 bamboo-carving gathering. Leave time for xiaolongbao rather than treating this as a quick city-center stop.

Before you visit

Do I need a ticket or reservation?

The program includes separate garden venues and activities. Confirm Tanyuan and Guyi Garden admission, workshop fees and any reservation requirements before visiting; food purchases are separate.

Can I enjoy it without speaking Chinese?

Music & browsing need little Chinese. Lantern-riddle activities require Chinese. Choose the market, bamboo carving or instrumental performances for a visit with less spoken language.
